CHURCHES TODAY
Then & now
Today most churches are hardly patterned after the churches found in the New Testament. The saints of old would be amazed to see what has become of the church during these last days of the Laodicean Age. The very purpose for the existence of the church in these last days is suspect from the very beginning. The calling of the last day church is completely unidentifiable to the holy calling written in the Holy Bible. The commission given to the church is simply a means to build up a group of like-minded people having the same inclination to socialize and feel good to be in the presence of one another. They need a place to fill their time. They need a religious organization for them to perform the rituals in receiving infants into their midst. They need an institution to marry their young. They need someone to perform religious rituals to send away their dead. They also need a group to network for the furtherance of their own financial and social well being. They need a support group to assist one another during the hour of need for social purposes. The existence of such an organization to satisfy all the various needs of the people hardly has anything to do with the New Testament church in the Holy Bible. The charter of the church is simply a document to legalize its existence where mental accent and consent to the creed are given to keep a system going in the church. The character of the church is simply some people professing to adhere to certain values and conduct on printed pieces of papers of the charter of the church but the lives of its members are largely distorted and have no true biblical piety and godliness to manifest the church as a called-out group of believers from the world on the way to glory land. The charge for the church is ignored and serves no relevant function in the last day where gain is the first and foremost priority for the church in our day and age. Today the church is characterized by a soft, smooth, slick, self-centred and sickening approach towards the spiritual things of Jesus Christ.
Today such churches have forced many true believers in Christ to worship God in Spirit and in truth without the camp. These true sincere Bible believers have no more use of the organized institution called a church where this church has lost the biblical character of the true New Testament church. There is absolutely no necessity for the enlightened believer to feel a need to belong to such an organization to feed the spiritual need of his soul. There is completely no desire in any form, shape and size for the believer to be involved in such organizations competing with each other in the Christian market place to see who is doing better in terms of church growth in numbers, which does not necessarily commensurate with the spiritual growth of the believers in Christ. Disillusionment of sincere believers in these churches has indirectly driven some to become members of cult groups waylaying them into bondage. These churches are no longer the salt of world offering a true beacon of gospel light to illuminate the darkened hearts and souls of fallen men to come to embrace the true Light, the Lord Jesus Christ. These churches are no longer the balm of Gilead providing comfort and solace to Christians in their hours of temptation and desperate need. A critical analysis of these churches is in order to signpost true and sincere believers of the Lord Jesus Christ disillusioned by the glamour and busyness in revolving their lives around the church calendar believing they are spiritual and serving the Lord. Little do they realize that often times they are serving the agenda of the church hierarchy where personal fame and glory are the primary objectives of these profession elites! Many believers do not know that they are actually keeping such professionals employed as their gurus to tell them the will of God for their lives when they could seek this same truth from the Holy Bible. Empowerment belongs to every member of the body of Christ, the true Church, the Bride of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let no religious organization deceive sincere believers in Christ into submitting to a system that has no biblical authority that will bring them back into bondage in which the Lord Jesus Christ has come to set them free.
The wicked spirit of the last day has thoroughly permeated the churches of the last day. May everyone arise from spiritual slumber and know that the time is short and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ is at hand, even at the door when Christ is now left outside the church door. For the Lord has said, He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. (Revelation 3:22)
Jesus Christ shed His precious blood to purchase unto Himself. Our churches have sold their spiritual birthright unto the world for recognition and for fame. These churches are hell-bent in seeking self-glory and desiring to be placed on the pedestal with the religions in this world to compete in recruitment exercises to further their own cause. The glory these churches go after is external to be seen by men and not eternal to be praised by God. These churches have lost touch with true spiritual reality and the high calling from above. These churches have charted out their own course and traveled down to the river of no return. In the closing of the church age, it will only get from bad to worse. These churches are a worldly and degenerative churches. They are churches that have lost touch with true spiritual reality where the only reality is the wealth and fame under the sun that they are seeking to acquire. These are churches that are spiritually deformed and have lost the salt in this world. They are worthless in the sight of the gracious loving God who gave life having no spiritual power with God and with men. They are in such a deplorable lukewarm state that the Lord threatened to spew these churches out of His mouth. Indeed, these last day churches are a good for nothing churches that fail in the mission to function as the church of the firstborn endowed with blessings from heaven. These churches are rich in the sight of the world but exceedingly poor in the sight of God. they are rich churches , yet poor churches.
What a misnomer! How paradoxical for such churches to exist and yet serve no spiritual purpose! The day will soon come when these churches will be put out of action with the removal of its candle where it is no longer shining in the dark place to enable sinners to come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
These Christless churches have forced the Saviour out of the door and prayerlessness is but one among many symptoms of its spiritual decay that plague the churches. Prayers by its members are generally directed towards preservation of their wealth and health and have nothing to do with the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. They pray for the increase in numbers to further their own earthly kingdom so that more and more business transactions would result in the church of the last day where vested interest of certain individuals would continue to be enriched thereby. Such self-centred prayers are the norm during this day and age where self-preservation is foremost in the mind of its members. It is this
self-centred mindset that has quenched true missionary zeal and the great to put up a front that reaching the lost is still part and parcel of this church so that funds would continue to come forth and oil the financial machinery to get more programs and activities going for the church. While prayers are still being uttered during all their services, activities and meetings, they are those superficial meaningless mutterings that have no resemblance to the prayers prayed by the apostles and disciples in the New Testament. The prayers recorded in the New Testament are selfless prayers and they are directed to God to fulfill God's will upon the earth and in their lives to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. The modern day prayers are indeed a far cry from the prayers of the saints of old and would be too embarrassing to be mentioned in the presence of the society of the saints of light.
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:8) The answer is too obvious. There needs no elaboration and deliberation on the status of these last day churches which have long ago lost their vision having been clouded by the riches in this world. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. (Revelation 3:15-18)
These churches have completely assimilated the values of the world and the practice of Christian faith and secular humanism go hand in glove.
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8) While it is true the Church receives commission to preach the gospel to all creatures and to make disciples of all nations, all those who receive God’s saving grace did so naturally being girded with truth and empowered by the Holy Ghost. The modern day church is somewhat skeptical with regards to this task of carrying out the great commission. The elites from this church question the effectiveness of this simple Scriptural way when the task is left to individuals led by the Holy Spirit under conviction from the words of the living God to win the lost. Much is emphasized in soul winning and courses after courses are planned and conducted to indoctrinate embers to go out and “reach the lost world”. While some guidance and personal testimony would be helpful in this respect, more often than not, such training classes or seminars, or whatever fanciful names they called it, resembles more like a marketing course or a sales training program where the members are taught to go out to “reach the people” as though they are selling an insurance product or any other form of marketable products in the market place. They rely on human reasoning and humanistic psychology taught by the world to carry out the task of the great commission of winning the lost. They have mixed what is profane from the world with the holy call to preach the pure and unadulterated gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The worst is the tactics of hard selling the gospel like any other product available in the world where the prospective buyers are conned into listening when they have no intention to purchase such a product to begin with. The victims might go through the whole sales process with this Christian sales agent just to get the whole thing over with and dispatch him out of the door. In some cultures, the people are simply just too polite to say no and they will agree with this Christian marketing agent on every point raised and they would even go through the sinner’s prayer with no actual conversion taking place. The soul winning program or campaign organized by many churches turns out more like a marketing campaign to bring the lost world in to fill the pews in the church building and help pay for the mortgage as well as the daily running of the many church programs to ensure the continuity of an organization going forward that is being run like a corporation in the real world. The soul winning program or campaign organized by many churches turns out more like a marketing campaign to bring the lost world in to fill the pews in the church building and help pay for the mortgage as well as the daily running of the many church programs to ensure the continuity of an organization going forward that is being run like a corporation in the real world. The activities recorded in the book of Acts are carried out in the cross to a lost and dying world after the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those apostles and disciples who witnessed the life, sufferings, death, burial, resurrection and the eventual ascension of the risen Saviour could not help but preached about this glorious Person. They were true witnesses of what took place back then and they were driven by zeal to accomplish what they were told to do in great earnestness in expectation of the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ. They were not interested in building a congregation of people for social gathering and to further their own cause.
Much less did they desire to build a church emphasizing on the external such as the church buildings and the various ancillary facilities to cater to the whims and fancies of the people? They were there to fulfill a function to meet the needs of those who were truly poor and needy where the gospel message was the central theme that motivates every one to spread this glorious message far and wide. None of them was officially and artificially trained to carry out the task of the great commission by ways of the wisdom of this world. In fact, such inclinations are condemned in no uncertain terms in 1 Corinthians 1:21: For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
The disciples went out winning the lost naturally. They were naturally spiritual and spiritually natural in their efforts to preach the gospel wherever they went. No one compelled them to do so. They were energized by the power of the Holy Ghost being witnesses to the testimonies of those who had seen Christ and had experienced the power of the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. No one organized soul winning classes and no records of man made programs were ever recorded to motivate Christians to bring people to church so that they might be saved. They preached the gospel to the lost world and not to the church. It is the lost world that indeed needs the gospel preached and not the church. If the church were made up of the lost world, then the church would fail as a chaste virgin bride of the Lord Jesus Christ.
No one bribed anyone to come to church to hear the gospel preached to him. They did not believe the ends justify the means. They did not build a monstrous organization to employ huge number of Christians to work in a Christian environment in order to serve the Lord. They went out in simplicity and preached the gospel in power in words and in deeds with their manner of lives bearing testimony to the message that they brought with them. No duplicity of mingling with worldly affairs and worldly means was adopted into their practice of the Christian faith. They did not entertain the mighty, ere equally in need of the salvation offered through the mighty and blessed name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The commission they received was not a means for them to increase the numbers from among them so that they could organize more activities and programs to entertain and socialize with one another. They needed no commission to justify the increase of members among their midst. The increase was by the grace of God and for His glory. The increase in numbers came naturally as well as supernaturally as they preached the gospel to the lost wherever they went. They did not come to church to have their ears tickled and be entertained. Their churches were not religious nightclubs mirroring after the pattern of the world. The commission they received was truly commissioned by the Lord and not by men. The commission was always before them and the foremost of their thoughts and actions and their conduct bear testimony to the truth of the gospel and so they preached. The power they possessed in fulfilling this great commission was inward in nature and expressed outward towards the sinners of the world manifesting Christ in them, the hope of glory. They were not empowered by the wisdom of man or by the wisdom in this world, which is earthly, sensual and devilish. They needed no soul winning classes and no outreach seminars to teach them to say clever words to their prospective converts and corner them into making a decision for Christ. They did not approach the lost in guile doing the work of the Lord deceitfully. Their gospel message brought the sinners to conviction by the words of the living God and through the work of the Holy Spirit. The conversions of sinners were bona fide being regenerated by the Holy Spirit and not just mere promise of words and decision making to fool them into admitting them into their church by a vote in favour of allowing them to congregate with the church and to enjoy the privileges of partaking the Lord Supper.
They needed no retreat or church camps to inpire them further as well as to recuperate from their hard labours so that they might once again carry out the commission of winning the lost. They needed no annual mission conference to remind them to contribute their time, talent and money to continue the cause of the great commission given to the church to win lost souls for Christ. They needed no planning in the carrying out of this commission to win lost souls. They needed no elaborate scheme to motivate their people to go soul winning. They needed no competition among their
midst to see who would win more souls fo Christ. They had no temporal no recognition in carrying out the commission to preach the gospel. They had no notice board in the church to record how many souls were saved. They had no statistical charts to display who won how many souls for Christ over a certain period of time. They needed no medals or plaques to honour those who succeeded in winning the most lost souls to Christ in a year. They needed no one to pat them on the back with words of commendation and affirmation that they were doing a great job in preaching the gospel. For necessity was laid upon them to preach the gospel and congratulatory gestures were completely unnecessary for them. Their commission came from the Lord of glory and they strive to bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ in the preaching of the cross. They believed in some will sow, some will water, some will reap the harvest and the Lord will grant the increase. Their attitude in fulfilling the commission to preach the gospel was one of gratitude. They preached the gospel in sincerity and in humility. They had no ulterior motives when they preached the gospel to the lost world.
The early disciples had no need for anyone to impress upon them the need to preach the gospel. They preached the gospel naturally and no program was mandated by the church to compel anyone to go door to door to invite people to come to church. Their personal testimonies and manner of life indeed provoked one another unto love and good work. Their activities were natural and spontaneous and not artificial having to report to the church hierarchy how they spent their time and what kind of activities they engaged in during their fellowship meeting with one another. They did not need anyone to challenge them on how many lost souls they would win that week by faith trusting in God to give them souls. They lived transparent lives for their conversation had indeed become the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and their lives were living epistles observed and read of all men. Such natural spiritual traits of the earlier believers in Christ cannot be duplicated by man made programs and clever schemes devised to bring about the transformation of the modern day believers to do exploits for Christ in such a monumental scale. Those disciples of old waited upon the Lord to be empowered by the Holy Ghost to do a work for Christ to prepare a people for heaven and people who would be naturally heavenly minded who mind the things of Christ rather than the things of this world. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and they carried out their work for Christ in a godly fashion and not like the modern day devilish unintelligible tongues speaking movement. Those who responded to the gospel preached by the early disciples understood the message and needed no one to expound to them the mystical hidden movement who claimed to have the sole custody of truth given by and through them. Their spirituality was true and natural. They did not fake it till they make it in their spiritual circles of friends to impress one another how special, spiritual and powerful they were in demonstrating their power in miracles, which even the devils could also likewise perform.
The early disciples lived with the commission embedded deep in their hearts and their preoccupation was to find opportunity to fulfill this very commission given to them by the Lord. Preaching the gospel is not just the job of the pastors and elders. They lived to preach and everyone was a preacher in his or her own rights. Their inward thoughts were geared towards reaching lost souls around them not for glory or for fame but for the glory of God. They knew the terror of the Lord and that was the reason why they persuaded men to be reconciled with God. For hell was real and they believed it as it was written in the Holy Scriptures and they would spare no effort to contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints. Man made schemes and programs on soul winning would be quite meaningless to them. The Scriptures were sufficient evidence and conviction from the Scriptures alone would compel them to preach the gospel. With the help of God, they spread the gospel to new frontiers bringing many sons to glory to God. They rescued the perishing and they preached the gospel as though there were no tomorrows. They sought for no rewards from men but the commendation from the risen Lord and Saviour. They pressed towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ with such zeal that devils were dismayed as they turned the world upside down. The demarcation between the church and the world was exceedingly clear and cannot be mistaken. Profanity and holiness cannot coincide within the church. The gospel purity was their utmost concern and they jealously guarded themselves against wolves in sheep’s clothing bringing believers into bondage.
With the cross before them and the world behind them, they marched and trod on to conquer new territories for Christ armed with the words of the living God where the great commission was a mission they volunteered voluntarily without compulsion from fellowmen. No humanistic approach towards this sacred task of preaching the gospel would be entertained and no man made schemes or policies would be allowed to intrude into their daily task of winning the lost for Christ. There was no competition among themselves to see who would be the greatest in this holy undertaking of bearing one and another’s burdens and soldiered on till their mission was accomplished. They did not think competition would be good and would bring out the best from the individual. They did not subscribe to market demands and fanciful economic strategies in their work of faith and labour of love. They believed in assisting one another bearing the reproach for the Lord and they laboured without the camp to bring glory to Christ. They required no social assistance from the world to further the cause for Christ. They did not form committee to look into how best to send missionaries to foreign land to preach the gospel. They needed no mission board to manage their funds and take care of their retirement planning when they go to the mission field to preach the gospel. Retirement was not in their vocabulary for they were sent by the Almighty God and commissioned to preach till they reached the celestial shore basking in the love and presence of the Son of God. Their retirement was preplanned by the God of the Bible and their retirement village was one of those many mansions the Lord Jesus Christ told them before He ascended up to heaven. Their resting place was not on earth and retirement planning was a misnomer for them. Their final resting place from their labours was far beyond the visual range from the eyes of sinful men where the glory of God they would not hope to behold.
These men and women of the past received the commission from the Lord into their heart and not the head and they could endure hardness as good soldiers for the Lord Jesus Christ, the Captain of their salvation. They trust not in the wisdom of men and the schemes devised by them to aid them in this great undertaking of winning lost souls for Christ. Monetary rewards and creature comfort were never discussed in their endeavour to carry out this great commission for Christ. Their encouragement came from above and their comfort did not derive from the weak and beggarly elements in this world. Their primary motivation was to stay the course till the work was done for they believe they would receive a crown from none other than the blessed Saviour who commissioned them in that day at the end of the harvest. They prayed for the Lord to raise up more labourers and not more mission boards to take care of the missionaries. They were visionaries and pioneers in this new spiritual industry where eternity was at stake for the multitudes of lost souls. Worldly rewards would fail to entice them to enter into service for the great King of Kings. Their rewards were eternal and from above and they rested not till their mission was accomplished. Such were the Christian men and women of old and they wore the commission as a badge of honour that they were given an opportunity and a role to return a little
Corporate entity where many are employed to support the few who are truly labouring in the Lord’s vineyard and harvest field. They exist to siphon resources that might otherwise go straight to those who are carrying out the commission to preach the gospel beyond their shore. These organizations are mere bureaucracies that often times hinder the cause of the gospel where they dictate how and where the gospel should be preached. Moreover, missionaries are held hostage by the retirement plans they envisage would someday be jeopardized should they fail to keep the directives from their religious organizations handling their funding.
Though churches erect charters, constitutions or covenants to portray a form of Christian characters, most of the time, they are meant to be used as just another marketing tool to reach out to the different sectors of professing Christians with different inclinations. These documents will enable prospective church shoppers to shop for churches that they are comfortable to assemble with. It is nothing more than pure product differentiation technique to market the church in the Christian market place. These charters, constitutions or covenants are seldom referred to in their practice of Christianity. It only exists to keep members within certain boundaries for the express purpose of perpetuating its own cause for survival and sustainability of the church programs. It creates a system to support career opportunities and employment of elite members among their midst to serve a system not much different from a McDonald’s franchise. In reality, in the many diverse sectors of the economy in a given locality, the Christian churches are indeed another of one such sector contributing to the GDP and GNP of that geographic location. It drives a supply and demand of goods and services among the churchgoers. With many potential converts entering the system, this ensures the self-perpetuation of the programs within the organization of the church. The churches do follow along the line of the world in celebrating all kinds of festivities all year long. This is one way to keep churchgoers occupied as well as keeping many of their elites employed. Besides keeping up with the world’s programs in many such festivities like Valentine’s day, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and such likes, the church also organized activities for their members with a Christian touch. There are many conferences, be they named after such categories as stewardship month, better relationship communications for married couples, mission conference, bible conference and the hosts of many other programs with attractive titles, they serve to fulfill one main function. They exist for the purpose of keeping members occupied and salaried elite employees paid. Such activities of raising funds to keep the church machinery going and the members happy. They think that they are spiritual and are serving the Lord as long as they are busy when they live their lives revolving around the church calendar. This is a deceptive form of bondage where many fail to see. When being told of such a false system of pretentious piety, they will become defensive and go into a denial mode. Anything could be justified even using the Bible to perpetuate a cause of their own making as long as they fee good about it. Whether the activities are biblical, they are not important so long as the members want them and feel they are living meaningful lives revolving around the church calendar. Unfortunately, this system gives members a false sense of spirituality.
Such structured spirituality producing machinery cannot be torn down even with Scriptures. For they are above the scriptures and their only authority is political expediency where the elites are employed. They have a vested interest to ensure its continuity and they perpetuate their own existence and create more and more programs to justify their positions. Fanciful titles and positions are handed out to those who would pledge loyalty to such a scheme and work towards its continual existence and success. Rewards are given out to outstanding staff who could come up with innovative measures to cater to the needs of their members. They serve to compete with the world for the time of their members. They would go into all kind of business ventures just to ensure their members would stay with them. They could provide tuition services for the children of their members, which incidentally also serve to prevent a leak of financial resources to the outside world. They could also provide childcare services, kindergartens and a host of many other services as long as their members want them. More and more schemes are setup and the salaried members are to look out to envisage such needs in advance and position themselves for the next stage of church growth. If at all possible, financial resources of its members should only circulate among themselves so that more and more members could be employed to work in a Christian environment. Such a setup is nothing more than pure business in every sense of the word.
The piece of legal document called the charter or constitution or covenant gives the church a legal platform to operate and run its business. This document is not cast in stone and it could be amended whenever the need arises. This allows the church the flexibility to operate and cater to the ever-changing needs of the members and the community. Naturally,
All the necessary services that meet their every need. This would really be an added incentive where they could use such services offer by the church, especially services cater for their children, as they elieve their children would be left in good hands. It would be wonderful for them to grow up in a Christian environment. This kind of system also attracts those whose motives are purely to get a salaried job where the church would be a wonderful employer. Harshness and reality from the real world usually do not exist in such an environment. Some types of business within the church are run on a basis of funding from church members where profitability never enters into the equation. As such, wastage and lack of accountability would drain the resources of the church where the existence of the church is for a spiritual purpose. Should the activities be profit driven, members would have to pay a lot more for such services where similar services would cost a lot less offered by businesses in the world because of the economy of scale enjoyed by the world at large. Should members choose to use services from the world rather than from the church, peer pressure would be applied to attempt to get such business back into the church. If such a measure fails to work, scorn would be expected from the church leadership or from the pulpit to denounce such disloyalty as a lack of spirituality and love for the Lord and His church. Pressure is ever increasing to directly or indirectly compel members to use the services offer by the church by terrorizing them about the danger in the real world. Those who succumb are highly commended to be spiritual assets of the church and those who refused would be despised. Indeed the operation of the last day church is a business. It serves to compete in the world for financial resources to ensure its own survivability. Spiritual market positioning is practiced to attract people to join them in their cause. Even unsaved people could use the services they offer without being members of the church. This will no doubt increase income to the coffer and help subsidize other areas of needs. No effort is spared to market their charter and the purpose of their existence. They frame up their mission statement like corporate bodies in the real world. Some churches even engage external consultants to assist them in the running of their church organization. These external consultants are used to provide guidelines and devise programs to facilitate the running of the church and gear the church towards higher profitability as well as better organizational efficiency. Some churches have even obtained certification by external bodies for having attained ISO 9000 status as though such qualification will give them a higher standing in the world as well as among the many churches in the Christian market place.
Audits on a regular basis but a spiritual audit by the Holy Ghost has never been in the pipeline anytime soon or ever. This is the last day’s amazing church where the rich church is indeed a very spiritually poor church. Such kind of church is unrecognizable to the saints of old and the Lord Jesus Christ has been pushed out of the church door. The Lord is seen knocking outside the door of the church but quality auditors find Him an unnecessary distraction to their grand scheme of things and an invitation for the Lord to come in and preach would not pass their very high and exacting standards of processes and procedures in their quality system.
characterized by its many fanciful programs to cater for the various needs for different groups of people under their care. These churches are largely activities driven but not spirituality oriented. From the conversations of their teenagers and adults, it is evident that godliness is sadly absent even though multitudes of programs are organized supposedly to gear them towards a spiritual walk with the risen Saviour. Whenever their members open their mouth, frivolity spews forth corrupting one another. The topics these members discuss are seldom designed to provoke one another unto love and good work but they provoke one another unto lust and envy in their mad pursuit of material gains and vainglory. Churches compete among themselves in the churchianity market place and chase after the dollars from professing Christians to fund their programs. The last day churches are spiritually deformed. They lack the spiritual vitality of the early churches empowered by disciples with sincere and godly zeal to carry out the great commission to win the lost and disciple them in their churches.
a tendency to be politically correct in its outlook in order to reach out to the diverse multitude of people in the community. The last day church is simply one of the many religious organizations in the world offering an alternative for sinners to consider whether it fits their beliefs system and lifestyle. This church is listed on a religious directory just like one of the many supermarkets for the religiously inclined people to shop for their preferred services and involvement. The last day church markets itself as one of the many possible solution centers to curb social ills and attend to the need of the destitute to put up a front as a charity organization. The last day church is very concerned about its physical appearance and image in the sight of the world. The church buildings are nothing short of luxury and in fact opulence would be more befitting to describe the church in its quest for outward success to be admired by the world. It is this obsession of outward glory the church believes would attract others to consider the religion of Christianity. Poverty is regarded as being a curse and not congruent with the blessing Almighty God would bestow upon the people. Riches and wealth are symbols of success and this concept of God blessing people with abundant wealth is the central theme to induce sinners to become Christians and join the ranks in the organized church. It offers hope like a multi-level marketing corporation where success begets success is encouraged and taught. Positive thinkers and their positive thinking doctrines taught by success oriented gurus drive this church onward and forward to the high ground of respectability and prestige in the world of churchianity.
